Tires??
Does anybody know what tires will be OEM on the RDX? I know that they are 235/55/18's and a quick scan through the various tire retailer sites shows slim pickings indeed at that size. One of the available tires in that size are the same crappy Michelin HX's that came standard on my RL. If they are standard on the RDX, I will definitely be changing them BUT the problem is that with that size, there are really no good choices for a replacement. Has anyone heard if 19's will be offered as an option??
By the way, overall I love the RDX and will be getting my wife one as soon as they arrive up here in Canada (unless she falls in love with the new MDX in the meantime). The rumours up here are that the RDX will be arriving late August early September. We still have no idea what the Canadian specs will be - there always seems to be a few little changes from the US model. They will probably add a few little gadgets so they can justify the grossly inflated price we will be paying up here.

Thanks for the info thorium and bobq. I must admit to being disappointed in the tire choice by Acura. My suspicion is that the Michelin HX's deliver superior gas mileage which is why Acura continues to choose them for OEM. Performance wise, however, there are much better handling, smoother, quieter tires available (although not necessarily in the 235/55/18 size). Hopefully, there is a better tire to fit the 19's then I can stick winter tires on the stock 18 inch wheels.

I made the assumption that the optional 19 inch wheels would take 235/50/19 tires which are the same diameter as the stock 18's but a search for tires in that size produced zero results. This makes me believe that the 19's will be intended for 245/45/19's tires which also have limited choices for tires (but does include the new Yokohama Advan S.4.). If the 19's are ok with 245's, then we may be able to look into 245's for the 18's as well. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait until the RDX arrives up here and then look into tire options further.
