On 7/1/2011 CA sales tax goes down by 1% and Vehicle Registration goes down by .5%. I have been looking for something fun, smallish, safe, affordable, affordable to insure, reliable and was hoping for frugal to commute in. Well, the RDX missed on the last one, and it came down to the VW GTI and RDX. If I can get the right price the RDX will be my car, since the VW seems like too many reliability issues. Its been a long journey learning about problems with all sorts of makes, like BMW run flats and other insanely expensive issues, MX-5 no spare tire and no run flats either.

I bought my last 2 cars over the WWW, but last one was 8 years ago and I wonder if the buying process is still as easy.

I hope to configure my car on www.acura.com, then send out requests for quotes from neighboring dealers and go with the best one. They all need to beat the various carsdirect.com type prices. Last time Weir Honda gave best price and no surprises at the dealer. Stuck to the deal and very easy transaction.

Anyone want to warn me of scams dealers now pull? I will request VIN mileage, so I am not buying their demo model.

*8 years ago the economy was in better shape and the dealers were too lazy to even look at a PC screen. You should have every one of those offers be lean and tasty. Matter of fact, I would accept their offer with the condition you get a free (or at least at cost) set of 19" Chrome-Look Wheels also!
