Wow I can't beleive we can pick up these small things :P Acura thought of the small stuff, but some of the bigger stuff they ignored
I would bet that this occurred because of another feature which obviously wasn't explained to you by your dealer. If the vehicle is at a stop and the wipers are on intermittent, the wipers will wipe immediately when you take your foot off the brake. Another safety feature just like the rear wiper wiping automatically when put in reverse.

http://www.acura.com/

Go to the bottom of the above web page and click " Acura Store" and then click "Navigation DVD Updates"

Personally, I'd go complain to your dealer about this one. I bought my 2007 RDX in Aug of '06, and it came with the 2006 DVD. Within 2 months, they were shipping with the 2007 DVD. I told my dealer that it seems to me that since I bought a 2007 model year car, I should get the 2007 model year DVD just like everyone else. I shouldn't be penalized for getting my car before them (same model year). My dealer agreed and ordered me the update for free.

Worth a shot...

The brightness of the rear camera image can be adjusted by turning the navstick wheel while the camera is on.

WHen you come to a complete stop, when you release the brake peddle, the wipers will swipe once. When you turn the wipers on of course.

Mine resets after I start it, put it in drive and then move forward about 10-15 feet. When you stop for gas, try taking your key out of the ignition and see if that makes a difference.

Anyone know how to do this?

When I pull the key from my ignition, I'd like all my doors to open, not just mine. TIA.

There is a change holder on the underside of the center console lid.

You change those settings in the MID settings. I dont recall exactly how to get into it but it is in the manual on how to enter the settings. Also it is different depending on Base or Tech model.

You can renew your XM radio subscription for $77/year just by calling XM and asking for that price.

How about the jacked prices for regular service like oil changes and tire rotations? My salesman never told me that the dealership would inflate the prices 3x over other cars and ignore the 15% coupons that they sent me. There is no difference in changing the oil on an RDX vs. a Fit.

^^very very true... your first problem is that you assumed the dealer would have good prices, or at least try to work with you on a deal. (NEVER does a dealer try to purposely save you money!!) The second problem is, you almost have to get this kind of basic maintinence done at the dealer in order to keep warranties valid.

Who else finds that little clause in your contracts to be a little BS? Thought so

If you turn off the auto-dimming RVM it will come back on the next time you start your RDX.

There is no padding in any of the RDX's cavities. You have to buy your own.

Not to use the downshift paddle when you are using cruise. It will scare the crap out of you when the engine revs to redline.

actually the rdx uses synthetic, im pretty sure the fit uses regular oil.

The fit has a smaller oil pan thus less oil overall.

Also with acura service you get a loaner car, honda you get jack

Amaysd, there is no reason you have to have the basic maintenance done at the dealer to keep the warranties. Rexorg, what do you mean by cavities and filling them yourself?

Lightbulb auto day night navi

Great thread
If you Have the tech package you can set the Navigation to auto day/night settings (whenever your headlights are on or off, screen changes color depending on setting). All you have to do is turn the little knob that resets your trip to any setting that is not the brightest. Check it out!?

This is what he means.

http://stores.ebay.com/PadsPlus_Acur...QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I have them too based on a recommendation on another thread. If the link is blocked just google for rdx and padsplus. You will not be disappointed, these things are awesome. I liked them so much I epoxyed them in permanently to prevent shifting around... much more effective than the double sided tape he provides. The price is great too.

I emailed Mr. Wong about using rubber cement on the pads. He told me the rubber cement would ruin the pads. I do not know what other adhesives would do, but for me the double sided tape seems to work well. The pads are a great addition to my RDX. I would recommend them to any RDX owner. Most of the time you can get free shipping from Mr. Wong. You do have to go thru his offerings as some charge shipping and others don't. The basic price is the same.

Not true. I asked the dealer whether I can change the oil at my neighborhood mechanic without voiding the warranty. The answer is yes.

XM Radio + NavTraffic

That's true! Almost. Have your radio ID ready. Call 866-409-0296 and tell them the promotional code is ZWINBACK. They'll ask you if you received that offer in the mail; say yes. Then they'll ask you for the phone number and address and, finally, your credit card. This offer has to be charged on the card, not billed.

The price with NavTraffic is $124.88.

You can go to any registered automotive shop. You do not have to go to a dealer in order for your warranty to stay in tact.

you can change your oil yourself, even owner manual tells you how to do it. Changing oil on RDX is very easy because you don't have to lift up the car, just unscrew drain plug and drain it out.

I didn't need any discount code. And they gave me half price on the traffic, too. $77 + $24 = $101.

Here's one... lift up the tailgate of an RDX and put your hand into the gap between the metal tailgate and the plastic cover... you will feel the tailgate of the CRV under there with spacers to hold the plastic in shape! Nice.

Yeah that may be true about rubber cement, but epoxy has worked beautifully for me. I wanted no chance of change or trash or anything slipping underneath them, so a general purpose epoxy worked well for me. Also, when vaccuuming out those sides, sometimes they'd come off the double sided tape.

Here's another thing the salesperson didnt tell you:

That you'd have a giant puddle under your car every time you use the climate control... more so than any other car I've ever owned.

Yes, the A/C "sweats" quite a bit on the RDX!

funny I've never been given a loaner. Always been told, none available. Stinks when you have to wait 3 hours.
