..so I did it again!

Well, I had been talking to the local Acura dealer, (only one here) and I had the day off Monday. I told my sales guy I'd come down after I made a quick trip down to Pueblo. So long story short, I traded in the '07 BASE, towards an '08, TECH model. PMM & Taupe interior. WOW. It's georgous & the Navi /tech stuff is way cool. I've got lots of reading to do! I'll tell more later!

PS. Sasair, does this mean I have to sign in again for the new vehicles??

How much extra did you have to pay for the upgrade?

I love people like you who are willing to take the primary depreciation hit so people like me can buy your almost new car and retain a much more substantial investment when it comes time to sell it back. No sarcasm here, I really do appreciate it.

Perhaps you didn't look at how much they are dealing on new models right now. I almost always buy CPO. But we have a new Tech as well because they are knocking so much off the price its almost crazy to even buy the base right now they will deal even more on the TECH. At most the TECH might be a $1000 premium in my area street price, it's insane not to option for it.

And used CPO 07's are hardly even below $28-29 in most cases. You can get a new 08 Base for $30 flat out the door at some area dealers. RDX's just are not old enough to be a used car deal right now.

No if caught right he might have done ok, not great but just ok.

The sucker is anyone that jumped on the Acura HFC RDX base lease (almost did that myself), in June they were $399/mo in my area. That same lease is now $349/mo. same terms -same money down now - wow!

Enjoy your trip to and from Colorado! I'm sure you'll score a well cared-for RDX.

not to bad. Even being upside down on the old RDX, they worked a nice deal. My BASE payment, (actual car payment) is $60 dollars LESS, but I also had to put some money down, but we have it at a VERy good rate! .99%! So with that payment, my total payments are only $10 more than what I already was paying on the '07 RDX! Not bad. We have great credit & got a premium rate on the down money. We can pay it off in the future, & my payment will be $60 dollars LESS than the '07.
Now I have an '08, with tech, insurance is going to be a dollar more per 6 months. The only down will be plates, but probably won't be that bad b/c I have some credit from the old ones & the way it's written up, I'm not paying on that much of a BASE price. Who wouldn't do a deal like this. They wanted to un load another '08 & know we've bought from them several times before.

Thanks BlueM&M. I do take great care of my vehicles. The OWNER & manager took it for a ride, after which they upped the trade in price. I love the new one w/ tech.

They almost wouldn't even talk about a lease. They, (AHFC) is really backing away from leases. The tech offer was just above the BASE price. It was good timing!

Glad you got a good deal. Not sure why they wouldn't talk lease it's on the Acura site and is a closed end lease nothing to negotiate as long as you have good credit.

What I meant was, they (Acura) won't do any leases beyond 4 yrs. Three yrs of the special didn't help me. Buying this time was better for me anyway. I know I didn't get as good a deal as some on here are reporting, but when you have a trade in of a vehicle that not a lot of people want, it makes it tougher. I was happy w/ the outcome. This yr. RDX is much better quality / fit /finish than the '07 was. The '07 wasn't bad, it's just this '08 is way better!
I'll write up some comparisons between the '07 & '08 that are different.

Just got an email from my dealer offering a 2008 RDX BASE for $28,220. Their website also lists Tech models for $31,990.

Great. Hope someone gets a great deal from them! How many dealers, (Acura) are in a 50 mile radious? How many RDX's do they sell per year? Is the RDX a Good seller or poor one for the dealer?

These all have a HUGE, HUGE difference on how well they make deals! Besides, they aren't close to me!

Wow -- man, what is the name of your dealer? The closest dealer near to me (Minneapolis) has '08 RDX Techs for $37,410 (MSRP).

Here is a copy of the email that I got. The dealer is Courtesy Acura in Lexington, KY. If anyone decides to give them a call, please talk to Ray Robinson. He's the salesperson I bought my RDX from and he's been great to deal with. Let him know I (Prakash Maggan) sent you.

Dear Prakash,

I wanted to take a moment to convey my many thanks to all of you that took advantage of our special client opportunity offered on the 2008 Acura TL over the last two months. The special opportunity on the 2008 TL models at $3,000.00 under invoice helped make Courtesy Acura the #1 Acura dealer in Kentucky for the month of July. I am very excited that we were able to secure a strong initial allocation of 2009 TL models that will start to arrive at the end of September!

Since we only have a handful of 2008 TL models left in our inventory, I thought I would offer a similar special client opportunity on the remaining 2008 Acura MDX and RDX models we have left in our inventory. Feel free to pass this special client opportunity along to a friend or relative if you wish.

Here is an example of what you might expect to save if you take advantage of this special client opportunity before the end of August!

2008 Acura RDX

MSRP = $33,910.00
Sell at Invoice = $31,219.82
Less $3,000.00
Total = $28,219.82 plus tax and doc.
Total savings = $5,691.00 WOW!!

2008 Acura MDX

MSRP = $40,955.00
Sell at Invoice = $37,273.83
Less $4,000.00
Total = $33,273.83 plus tax and doc.
Total savings = $7,681.17 WOW!!

Please visit our website at www.courtesyonwheels.com to view pictures of our available Acura RDX and MDX inventory. This is a wonderful opportunity to upgrade to the latest Acura technologies and at the same time save a whole bunch of money!!! Please feel free to call me with questions. Remember that not all offers are compatible, and may not be able to be combined with this offer. Thank you again for your loyalty to Courtesy Acura!

There are no Acura dealers within 50 miles. In fact, Kentucky only has two Acura dealers, one in Lexington (Courtesy Acura-where the email came from) and a dealer in Louisville.

UPDATE... was at the dealer to pick up something I left in the '07 RDX & to give them back one of the 2 DVD-a demo disks I had in the CD in-dash player. They ALREADY sold my '07 to a nice lady who said she loved it. Perfect, for her. I'm glad it went to a good home! (lol!)
I told them how much I love the '08 RDX & showed them the front window tints & added clear bra on mirror's, rear spash area. All is good.
