small boxes on the wheel wells+no coating in area around it?
hi guys, i noticed 2 things which hopefully you can help shed some light on:
a) in the rear wheel wells of our rdx, there's some black box attached. what are these? [id like to think that our cars are planes, but im sure it isnt LOL]
b) also still within the wheel well topic, i noticed that the area surrounding these boxes as well as near the coil springs, there are no "undercoating" spray (it's bare metal on those spots). can we/should we use aftermarket spray rubberized coating to cover it? (I presume acura specifically did it this way and was wondering if any of you had taken the liberty of covering these "bare metal" parts).
[fyi - the other areas of the wheel wells seem covered in some rust protection/spongy stuff - prolly schutz or something like that]
thanks!

thanks dkswim. spoke with an acura service rep... as for undercoating, rep mentioned it's actually deliberate... notice the mdx has plastic wheel well protection, rdx doesnt- hence no rubber coating on the mdx either apparently.
