Scratches on glass of brand new RDX

Hi all,

I just found this forum while googling an issue that I have with my RDX, so I'm new here.

I bought my RDX in February, and just recently noticed that there are fine scratchs on the glass (most noticable on the windshield and rear). They are only visible when it is really sunny out, and the lines look like spider webs. Since I live in Portland, OR (where it is raining/cloudy most of the time), I didn't notice these scratches at the time that I purchased the car. When I first noticed them, I thought maybe they were in fact spider webs, but I cleaned both the inside and outside of the glass and they still remain. I am unable to feel the scratches with my fingernail. I tried to call the dealership yesterday and they made it sound like there was nothing that they could do about it, even though I don't feel like I caused the scratches on the glass. I only hand wash the car and use microfiber mitts/towels to wash/dry. Also, I never had scratches like these on my previous vehicle in all the time that I owned it.

Another thing, is that the car had over 200 miles on it when I bought it because the Portland dealership actually got the car from a dealership in Washington. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have bought the car with that many miles on it and just waited for them to get another RDX in with the color combo that I wanted.

Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation, or have any advice as to what I can do? It's sad to think that I have these annoying scratch marks on the glass of my brand new car!

Thanks!

I would talk to your sales person and or the sales manager. From what you're saying, it sounds like the scratches are on the inside of the glass. If you can see them but cannot feel them and they do not wash away, they must be on the inside of the glass.

Bring it to the dealership and show them what you are talking about and act like you feel it is a safety issue. They should be able to replace the glass under warranty.

I have two light circles in my windshield. They are so minor, I forget to bring them up when I'm at the dealer.

I bought mine at their competitor on the east side and it was the worst purchase experience of my life. I'll never go back (except for service).
