RPM to shift in the RDX

i just found out that peak horsepower is produced at 5000 rpm in this car unlike other cars where it is developed near redline. This is because the engine is a long stroke turbo with dropping boost at higher pressures. Therefore i think it is a waste to climb at any higher rpm, a couple auto experts also agreed with me about this. But im still not too sure given the wide gear ratios of this car that i wanna drop into higher gears so early. anyway im going to experiment with this later and see.

i noticed this too when i used to have an RDX. the power would drop off significantly after 5000-5500 rpm. this was quite annoying since i was used to driving cars that made peak power right before redline so for a while i would shift at redline for no reason. also if you notice the boost indicator would also drop quickly after 5000.

this could be a good thing though. shifting at lower rpms would decrease wear on the engine.

You need the Hondata Reflash.....

boost increases... redline expands... HP increases... Joy increases... etc.

I don't have to redline the RDX like I do with TSX. I'm usually getting close to redline in the TSX at least once a day (mostly merging on the hwy with the speed limit at 75 mph). The RDX (with Hondata) has such a strong mid-range; I can get up to speed in half the time with much lower RPMs.
