i came across this bad boy to be released by Mercedes to arrive around 2007/2008...looks like theres a lot of heat from this segment and Mercedes is going to have a strong competitor

Cute, but the reliability of a Honda wins me over easy. I've had nothing but trouble recently with German engineered cars. Plus, the Euro-Dollar exchange makes this car a very expensive proposition. And if it's built in America, you know it will have lots of problems (i.e. M-class repair history).
I think the smart shopper is the one that buys made-in-Japan every time. (if they can afford it)

how many % of its part made in US?
I've known that the whole OEM bodykits are made in Japan

the sticker, next to the MPG rating, lists parts content.
Checking mine, I was a little off...20% Japan (transmission), 65% US/Canadian, assembled Marysville, Ohio...
doesn't say where the other 15% is from...can't be all from the same place or they would have to name it...
Still interesting that quality control is not really a matter of where it was put together...
