RDX in Toronto
In the first couple months after I bought my RDX, I didn't see another RDX on the road at all while I am driving. All the sudden, I saw three over this week and they are all in the same color - Carbon Pearl !!!
Note: So far I have only seen one 07 MDX on the road on HWY 7

Sighting
I have had mine for 3 wks now -- and have only seen one other. I parked my black RDX beside a black one at the mall one day. They sure looked great together.

Saw a white one downtown just outside my condo on Monday (I was hoping Acura was delivering mine personally, but it was not to be)... another white on the street a week earlier, and a red one in another condo parking lot. But that's it.
Seen tons of '07 MDX though...

Had mine at about 2 months. Saw a black one and a white about a month back in Markham area, and another white one in HYW7&404 area. Work and Live in Markham area, however I did drive to downtown once per week.

And every one was gorgeous (though black is the best, IMO, which makes me very happy)

I drive the TSX as my wife drives the RDX, but on the one day I drove it to Toronto, I was on the DVP and saw 3 headed north ... Black, Silver and Red ... weird ... I thought a delaership was doing a shuffle or something.
Black is the hottest, I agree ...
Also went to Costco in Newmarket, and came out and someone parked their Blue juist opposite mine ... it was cleaner than mine

I get the impression we've hit some sort of critical mass. After not seeing any until a week or two ago, I saw 4 last weekend and this weekend saw 3 - silver (FILTHY) in yorkville, black one on the road at avenue and wilson and a red one (really nice actually) at Weston Road.

There are very few in the San Jose area. I might as well be driving a Ferarri. Somebody was taking pictures of it with their camera phone Friday night. Don't understand why, though. A quick google search would yield infinitely better pics.

saw a guy on friday. pulled up to me at a red light, and i see he rolls his window down. asks me about car, tell him i love it and all that. bascially was trying to sell him the car and figured he was looking to buy. course then he drives off and I see he's DRIVING ONE. was with the inlaws and pretty tired, but felt like an ass because didn't ask him how he liked his wheels.
starting to see a lot more now around - saw that one and another (both silver) on friday, both around avenue/yonge and st clair.

Comparing to the US market, Canadian market has always been more favour for small vehicles, especially small SUV's. For example, Nissan introduced the X-trail over here but not in the US. Acura does the same thing with the CSX (formerly CL).
In the US, most SUV buyers prefer bigger sizes and more powerful engines.

33% of income = income tax
14% of income = sales tax (in Ontario anyways)
Not conducive to large purchases when you're on a limited salary... *sigh*
Of course, another argument may be that we are just more practical.

I think the real reason is that (further to acurardx's comments) Canadians do not have as much disposable income as our US colleagues so we can't really afford the bigger toys.

Yes, agree. 50% + of our income goes to taxes already. Don't want to spend too much more on the gas for Hummer/Navigator size of SUVs.
![Roll Eyes](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
I picked the RDX is because a SUV is more practical for Toronto weather. And if I load all compatible stuff into the most popular SUV --> CRV EX-L, such as fog lights, side body moulding, alloy rims, etc), it would be like around CAD2,000 difference. Not to mention they are totally different engine, RDX SH-AWD and nicer trims. I guess the $2K is well spent.
I know a Rav4 V6 would save me some gas money with regular gas pump along with compatible horsepower, but its trim is just not luxury.......
