RDX sibling CR-V caught in Spy Shot

Seems the CR-V will indeed share its platform and to a great extent its profile and overall shape with the RDX. (I'm sure this still will not convince some who insist the RDX is built on the TSX platform)
Question, with such similar designs does this effect the image of the RDX? Does anybody else wish the difference was more substantial like the difference between the FX35 and Murano?

Yeah, that does look pretty good. I actually think i like the looks of that better than the rdx. I'm afraid it won't have the all the goodies I want on the inside, though. I certainly hope they at least offer a nav now in the CRV, since the civic has it as an option now.
I'm guessing no power passenger seat or memory seats in the CRV.

Kind of happy it seems the CR-V will remain a 4cyl only. Can you imagine the threads in this forum if the CR-V had the V6 option.

Over at VTEC.net, some reliable sources (not the pure speculation members like myself) are 'hinting' at a detuned J30 V6 as an engine choice for the CR-V. If that doesn't upset enough of you, one even 'hinted' it will have VCM for improved mpg.
Let's hope it's not true, as this is going to p-off those of us who hoped for better mileage and/or a V6 from Acura for the RDX.

In terms of size, the CR-V should be pretty close to the current model, with a slightly longer wheelbase and perhaps an inch or two of additional width. We haven't heard anything about this yet but we don't think Honda will make the mistake of trying to match the RAV4 by cramming a useless 3rd row of seats into he rear of the vehicle. We also don't anticipate Honda seeing any need to match the RAV4's 269hp 3.5L V6. The only thing we have heard on the topic of the CR-V's drivetrain is that there may be two different motors available. Unless a bluebird comes along and spills the beans, we're not likely to know much more about the CR-V until we start getting spyshots from Brenda Priddy or some of our readers.

if there are 2 engine choices, what could the 2nd option be, if not a v6? i think the fact that they're not trying to match the rav4 simply means that we should not expect 270hp in the CRV... but if there are 2 engines choices, the j30 seems very likely to me.

There is a lot of talk about the new RAV4 V6 whenever the CR-V is mentioned, but don't forget the V6 engine puts the RAV4 into a completely different price bracket. That is why I think Honda does not intend to pit the CR-V head to head with a V6 RAV4.

EPA on the RAV4 V6 is a whole 1 mpg lower.. with the capabilities/power it offers over I4.. seems like a no brainer to me. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, if they offered some of the features in it that they offer overseas I would own one right now.

1 mpg?? That's a big engine, Tap on the accelerator and the car lunges forward. I think owners will tell you it takes a lot more under real driving conditions.
If I can get what I want on the CR-V I'll have to pass on the RDX. Love to have another turbo but gas is getting too expensive...
