RDX rear-facing convertible baby seat?
Hi all,
I'm sure there are a few parents out there who have been down this road, I'm hoping to mine your experience:
Our 7-month old has outgrown his Snugride Infant seat, and we need to move him up into a rear-facing seat until he is a least 1 year old, when he can then face forward. We bought a Britax Roundabout convertible seat, but when we installed it as a rear-facing seat, there was almost no leg-room in the passenger seat. I'm 6'4", and my wife is 5'8", so we're a bit on the tall side.
Can anyone recommend a compact non-infant rear-facing seat that works well with the RDX?
Thanks!

I heard the Roundabout and Marathons have changed a bit in the last few years. I have a 3.5 year old and a 6 month old. The older guy is in a front facing Marathon (new) behind the driver's seat and the little guy is in a rear facing Roundabout (3 years old) in the passenger seat. When cranked down with the LATCH, the passenger seat leg room isn't terrible in our car. The other good thing is you are looking at a few months of rear facing, then all you have to worry about is the kids kicking your seat.

You might have already tried this, but try putting the car seat in the middle. the RDX has excellent rear leg room which should equate to plenty of space for even the bigger infant seats. we use a Evenflo Symphony 65 for our 13 mo. old which is now forward facing. its good to 100lbs so i would consider it on the bigger side of infant seats. its forward facing in the middle row now and it just about touches the driver seat, both me and my wife are 5'8".

We used a Roundabout, but my wife is only 5'2". The Roundabout is one for the smaller convertible seats.
The RDX's legroom measurements are pretty good--pretty much all carseats cause this in pretty much every vehicle with fixed second row seats. (Except for maybe S class or LS's or other long wheelbase sedans). The MDX is not much better--it is wider but no longer in the second row.
Putting the seat in the middle only works for the first kid--the RDX is not wide enough for three across.
