RDX OWNERS w/Hidden Hitch

I recently purchased a 1.25" Hidden Hitch from etrailer.com and the install was a piece of cake. However I notice that the hitch is right up close to the bumper edge and the only way to get my bike rack stinger/shank into the opening is to slightly push up on the bumper which seem to catch on the outside aspect of the receiver and stays up on the metal. But if the rack is not on I can actually pull down on the bumper and will just slip over the hitch receiver with about 1mm clearance between the bumper and the metal.

Is this how all the other hitches line up with the RDX bumper or is this just a case of a bad install? Should the receiver clear the bumper edge and protrude out passing the bumper? Any advice and recommendations will be accepted.

Thanks in advance

It should protrude below and past the inner edge of the bumper.

I have a Draw-Tite hitch, which I believe it identical to the Hidden Hitch. My hitch opening sits a few mm below the bottom of the bumper and I have no trouble inserting my bike rack. The official Acura hitch, however, does require trimming the bumper.

Sorry, I actually have the Draw Tite hitch and not the Hidden hitch. Its just that the clearance between the bumper and the metal is so dam close and I dont want to cut or trim any bumper. Should I just palce a washer between the car frame and hitch attachment points so that the unit sits further away from the bumper. Or is that not advisable.

Try removing it and re-installing. Could be you did not align it properly the first time.
