RallyArmor Mudflaps on RDX

So, I was really wondering how a Universal (because no specific Rally Armor kit exists for the RDX) Rally Armor kit would look and work on our cars but couldn't find anyone here who tried them..

I recently bought the inexpensive Rally Armor Universal Basic Plus (with red logo) kit and will receive them by the end of the week...
Universal Basic Plus Red logo, Rally Armor

If I like the style and functionality, I'll then probably buy the more expensive Urethane kit (103$), which should install the same way as the less expensive kit.

Anyway, I'll be installing them this weekend and try to do a simple DIY and show what it looks like, in case other RDX owners are curious like me!

Before:
Stay tuned

Apologies, the picture didn't come out that great, it is kinda hard to see the flaps..

Anyway install took me about 3 hours (considering I had to remove each wheels to kit the universal flap). Anyway I like the look, gives the car a more rugged look, plus it will protect my car this winter!

I like it a lot. Gives the Rex a sort of rally car look. I wish they would have hung down just a little lower and 8 would have liked to have them with red details or something sticks out a littl.

Yea you are right, in fact I think the seller sent me the wrong flaps. The ones I got seem to be the regular ones. The "Plus" kit includes longer flaps (19inches long by 12inches wide, instead of 15x12), with bigger red lettering.

Only noticed once they were installed

Contact the company and get them sent back. I think these look really good and would look even better if they were a little lower and especially with the red lettering. It is not too late

They are installed , that means I drilled holes in them... Im pretty sure this means I am stuck with them!

But anyway, since I love the way they look, I'll probably buy the Urethane ones Universal UR Plus Mud flap Red logo, Rally Armor next summer to replace mine.

Looks functional to me, and I see the red brand logo. If they protect the body then they are doing their job. If they're too low it will look like it's trying to be a Subaru.

They do still look good though. My factory plastic ones are about the same size as these ones. Those these might be a little bigger.

To the other member, yeah it would look sort of like a subaru, but the evo also has flaps like that and I think they go really good with the jdm rally look.

I also had the OEM flaps on the car, and I can say the Rally Armor are bigger (and they stick out more on the side)

You need to get the "Plus" model which are 7inches longer
Universal Basic Plus Red logo, Rally Armor

I ordered the "Plus" but got shipped the regular ones. I only noticed once they were installed, no biggie! We are not so lucky here in Canada, prices are much higher (I paid 53$) for regular ones, where in the US they are 15.99$.

For install, I did not cut them or anything. I jacked the car and removed the wheels.

I measured where I wanted the screws to go (make sure all flaps stick out the same) and drilled small holes in the flaps for screws. Then I simply reused the fender bolts for the front ones. Rear took a little longer, as I drilled holes in the plastic portion of the wheel wells, and used toggles bolts to make sure they were really solid. Took me about 3 hours.

Oh and, as an update, we recently got a little snow and LOTS of rain, and the flaps are holding like champs! I was following the wife in our second car the other day, and I could see all the water they would retain. It was impressive for such an inexpensive and good looking kit! I can imagine how the Urethane ones would be even better!

Anyone have a picture of the plus ones installed? Very tempted to get them but I have a feeling they might be too long. If I do get the longer ones is there a chance they could fall off?

What would be the difference between the universal ones and the expensive kit?

lol material difference
universal, you need to customize in order to fit.
expensive kit is direct fit for specific model of vehicle
