A RDX loaner I had did that once or twice in my garage/driveway. Being a loaner, I didn't care too much about it - but thought maybe previous users put the cheapest gas in it that they could, being a loaner and all.

Blue smoke usually means oil burning.
I'm guessing it's likely some oil getting into the intake manifold from the PCV system. Extremely common on turbo cars where the crankcase might get pressurized a bit though the vacuum system when the car is under boost. A lot of people find the most direct line to the intake manifold and put a catchcan on it, which will collect that oil.

if this is consistant each morning and it is blue, you may have a valve-guide seal leaking.
The repair would be covered under the powertrain warranty as long as there was no evidence of "abuse"...
Get her to the dealer. Good Luck.

Yes, you are burning oil. The problem is you need to find out where it is coming from. Most likely the turbo. I don't know how the turbo is placed on the rdx, yet. From my civic that was the first sign, although I didn't know it at the time, that my seals were going out in the turbo. In the Si's and RDX's the greddy turbo kit is a log manifold with the turbo sitting on top of it. When the car was off oil leaked back down the manifold and into which ever cylinder was open. When I started the car it burned off that oil, giving me a light blue smoke. I ignored it for a while. It got worse and when I knew something was wrong was when I would downshift putting it to full boost a puff of blue smoke came out of the exhaust. The intercooler had filled at the bottom with oil and some would get pushed into the engine when shifting. In the end I had to rebuild the turbo. I had the turbo on for only 38k miles before the re-build, and the turbo was brand new when I bought it. That low number is mainly due to the greddy oil return, it sucks.

Well, I don't mean to alarm anyone here, BUT in Saabs that means that the turbo is going; this is a well documented fact for those cars.
I really hope that your turbo is okay....Have you mention this to the dealer/mechanic? I wonder what they have to say...

I am making a parallel that I don't know should be made due to the differences in brands/technology, BUT you can read here about blue smoke in Turbo engine Saabs http://saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/search...ery=blue+smoke
