There is nothing new in this article. I just wanted to start thread #100.

Detroit Auto Show Live 17: Acura RDX

Photos by Ben Stewart

Acura’s First Turbo ... An SUV
You would think a performance luxury brand like Acura would have had at least one turbocharged vehicle in its 20-year history building sporty cars. Nope. The all-new RDX (shown here in prototype form) will be the first. The 240-hp 2.3-liter turbocharged Four will be paired to a five-speed sequential sport-shift automatic and Acura’s SH-AWD system when it launches here this summer. The i-VTEC turbo technology uses a variable-flow turbocharger, which, Acura says, provides improved fuel economy. That’s great stuff guys, but we’d like to see this engine show up in something other than an SUV. We can think of a couple fun applications this powertrain could mate with. The RDX is reportedly loosely based on the new Honda Civic architecture. The all-new Acura RSX sports coupe (due out within two years) will also use this chassis. So we’ll predict the next-gen RSX will have this turbo engine and all-wheel drive. It could even show up in a Civic Si Type R. How much fun would those Subaru WRX and Lancer Evo competitors be? We hope our predictions pan out.–Ben Stewart

At least you're honest Thats an interesting note about using the same chassis. Isn't it built on their new "global light truck" platform? They would build an RSX on a light truck platform?

It is supposed to be the same chassis as the new CR-V.

Yes and the CR-V is ultimately based on the Civic. Four chassis: Small chassis (Civic), midsize (Accord), S2000 and NSX.

Remarkably, they're all based (in the beginning) on the Accord chassis. This should give you an idea how flexible these "flexible chassis" are! Thinks about it, the trunk in the ridgeline is where the Magic seats go in an Odyssey.
