Unhappy Ouch... My poor RDX

I was driving merrily on a trip from New Orleans back to Houston when this @#$QW truck dropped a metal pod and I was not able to avoid it. I thought I was going to be able to clear it until it reached the back of the car and BOOM! I thought my transmission had dropped to the floor!

It started to smell and when I checked it appeared that there was damage to a wire and a metal rod. I took it slow and easy the rest of the way home and finally got an appt with a local Acura dealer to find out that the fuel tank guard and the rear emergency brake line will need to be replaced. At first I thought, WHEW! that I had it good since there could have been much more damage to the undercarriage or suspension.

After the tech "advised" me, we went to check out prices. WHOOP! $90 for parts.... and $460 for labor! Double ouch. I couldn't believe it.. The warranty was definitely not going to cover it. Anyone know what would be a reasonable price for such services? I may try to get prices from a few place around town. It still drives fine but my poor baby is hurt...

Depending on your deductible, call your insurance company.

Dropped a "metal pod"??? Is that anything like dropping a big steaming log of s**t?
