Oil change rates...

Bought my car in march, have around 2K miles now and oil change light is at 15%. Found a coupon from a local dealer

http://www.santamonicaacura.com/view...e_specials.htm

advertising 9.95 oil change *EXCLUDING* RDX.

I asked how much the RDX was and they say 89.95 discounted to $65.

WTF.

$9.95->$65.

How much do dealers want from you?

Too bad, I really wanted to start a relationship with that dealership's service dept but all I can say is WTF.

Dealer sent me coupon for A1, B1 service for $59.00 which inclues tire rotation, oil change etc, but they told me i need to pay extra coz RDX requires Syntetic oil so i ended up paying $99.00.

Coupon is scam, They will lower the price to 59 which they know u cant use it coz u need sysntetic oil..They charge me additional $40.00 for systetic which does not make any sense coz in walmart price diference of regular oil to systetic is $2.00 per bottle.

had my first oil change in april at a local mechanic shop who charged me $CAD55, labor + motul synthetic oil, they even reset my service indicator.

i have no intention to bring my car to the stealership for any type of service whatsoever. anything the stealership can do i can get done elsewhere for less $. sorry but i just can't find a reason strong enough to convince myself.

I have only taken my car to the dealer and it runs around $65....yeah, it sucks that it is the ONLY car in the lineup that takes the premium stuff, no incentive to them to reduce their cost...
