Oakland Acura selling below MSRP

went to check a white RDX tonight. we were the only customers in there. salesperson said they would knock off "at least $1000 off the MSRP," maybe could do better if he "spoke with his manager." The guy admitted the RDX is not selling anywhere near Acura's target numbers for the first two months.

oakland acura

both models. I didn't talk him down to anything, we don't want to buy the RDX yet. we are borderline on it right now and may wait for the 2008 unless we get a really good deal.

I got a quote for 35k flat on an RDX tech package. we are tempted but will still probably wait until next year for a coupe reasons. The main point here is that I have never heard of Acura selling below MSRP on any vehicle before. I've bought an Integra, a TSX in the past and friends have MDX, TL and RL and nobody I know ever got an Acura below MSRP. The sales guy at a local dealership said that sales of the RDX are only at about 50-60% of Acura's goals/estimates.

This guy's first post sounds like an ad to buy from him. Take eveything with a grain of salt. It is true however, some dealers are taking off MSRP, some are not. Before my purchase, I got a quote from 4 local dealers, 2 were firm with MSRP, one took off $500 and one took off $1000. This was 2 weeks ago. It may not have to do with Acura's overall sales, but with how the specific dealership it doing in terms of overall sales (all models).

Lots of Acuras are sold at below MSRP. TSX, TL, RSX, Current MDX, and especially the RL are all sold near, at, or even below invoice right now. I bought my RSX-S back in March 2003 for $100 below invoice. We just bought my wife's RDX Tech for the same $35K flat that you mentioned.

I think how the RDX sell will depend on all the upcoming comparison tests between the 2007 X3 and the RDX!
