New DVD-As

In case anyone is interested, today a DVD-A was released by Warner Brothers. It's from the Flaming Lips, their album called "War of the Mystics". It's a full 5.1 High Resolution DVD-A, and it includes a CD of the same album in the same package. The Lips also have two other CD/DVD-A releases available, "Yoshimi" and "Soft Bulletin". I was never "aware" of this group until I bought the "Yoshimi" DVD-A, just because it was a real DVD-A!

Also, for you guys my age (old), Rhino is releasing all of the Doors albums next week as full 5.1 surround DVD-A discs. At first, they will only be available as a set. It's called "Perceptions", and you can get it at Amazon, etc, or at your local Best Buy, etc. I am sure this one will also be in the Sams/Costcos of the world.

Also, if you are interested in any of the Warner Brothers DVD-A titles that were released from 2000-2005, you might want to get them while you still can. I have heard that many of the titles are no longer being made, and in fact some have been recalled.

This is a shame.

I believe it is actually called The Police: Every Breath You Take The Classics isn't it? Or are you just talking about the one song? I love that DVD-A disc. I just got two more discs today, one from The Corrs, and the live Eagles disc. I haven't heard a DVD or DTS disc yet that I haven't liked. So far this is what I have:

The Police: Every Breath You Take the Classics
The Corrs: ?
The Eagles: Hell Freezes Over
Barenaked Ladies: Maroon
Shania Twain: Up
Alanis Morissette: Under Rug Swept
Sheryl Crow: Globe Sessions
Trisha Yearwood: Where Your Road Leads
And a bunch of Classical stuff

Here is a list of most of the real 5.1 pop/rock DVD-A discs released since 2000. I left off most of the Silverline titles because they are mostly fake surround. I would avoid those at all cost, however, these are the ones you will probably find in the stores, as no on that knew about them bought them.
