Dear vrflyer, this happens on any forum in any country. Whenever person asks of a thing that he/she does REALLY need (by different reasons) some other person explains that you might not need this.
I don't care either for an extra weight or for a battery drain. I need this solution.

Acura are trying to divide the line between the RDX and MDX, so I don't think you will see this on the stock RDX for the next few years.
However I don't think it's possible for some reason.
Look at your remote it does not have a "pop the trunk" button.
hence that kinda means that you do not have a remote trunk lock or things like that.

It wasn't me that gave him a hard time. That's not my thing. I might not agree with what someone else wants to add or change on their vehicle but I'm not going to rag them out over it.
This isn't something I want to try and install in my RDX either. I'm just curious to see what Azzie has found as a solution.

It's ok. I knew this would happen. This happens in just any forum on any matter in any country
Firstly, I'm not crazy on DIY and this is quite complicated thus I should work things out to get my electronics specialists in local shop to arrange the things. Theory is just as follows.
That's my alarm system two-way pager. It has plenty of buttons & channels to have them pre-programmed. We know that Honda does not allow any operations after the ignition is off and key is pulled out. So there is another module that offers this functionality. It's not very secure, but it works. You can even start engine remotely (with Hondata immob. patch).

Here is MDXs tailgate. I have to compare this to RDXs one, order the parts I need and... here it is. Sounds easier than it is.

I was a bit sensitive to your comment because I've been given a hard time on modifications I wanted to make just because others didn't agree with what I wanted to do or they didn't see the point.

That does not look like something I would ever have the guts to take on myself. Good luck with it and keep those of us that are interested posted on your progress (with pics prefferably).
Cheers.
