Low Beam Head Lamp

two months ago i purchased 2011 RDX. the passenger headlight assembly had condensation inside. i asked the dealer to fix this. he said ok. they replaced the whole assembly and the HID low beam lamp only on the passenger side.
my question is "Is it really neccesary to remove front bumber to change the low beam out"? since he has the bumber off i asked him to change the drivers side as well so the color temp matches. The dealer wants to charge me $277 for partial labor and a new HID lamp. is this close to being correct? How exspensive are these lamps? and again do you need to remove the bumper? thank you

The dealer list price for the xenon bulb is still around $150, so it won't be cheap. That said, removing the bumper takes maybe 15 mins (just screws and clips holding it on), and it does make changing the bulb easier by giving you more space to work with. Even with removing the bumper it should take less than an hour to change both bulbs. If they were already going to cover the removal of the bumper and replacement of one bulb, a good dealer would only charge you for the 2nd bulb and nothing more. But, that's just my opinion.

HID bulbs take a while to color shift, ~25 hours of on time. give it time.

Err. I've got condensation in the passenger headlight too. I park the car outside too, so the condensation is frozen right now.
