LED 4 DRL/HB & Fogs
Searched, but couldn't find if anyone did this swap for fogs WITHOUT the decoder. If so, any problems w/ just a straight-up bulb switch.
Did find one thread about the 9005's; person said their highs still worked, just not as bright. Any other experiences? I do like the idea of the "white" look for all the front lights, but not at expense of safety b/c I actually do need my highs on a daily basis during winter.

If you are refering to actually swapping the daytime running lights/high beams to HID, you would have to do a normal HID conversion which is a pretty easy plug and play. It's not as simple as just switching out a bulb but not nearly as complicated as I've heard other (not on this site) say. Changing out the fogs for HID is also just as straight forward but actually getting to them is an entirely different monster. I would suggest getting the car up on a lift to simplify the task. I have done my fogs with a 3000k swap and i love it. I havent changed out the highbeeams though although i do plan on it. As far as doing this as an LED swap, I would stay away from it, LED's are grreat looking but every product I've ever checked into never gets bright enough.

Thanks 4 the heads up; the brightness factor is what I was most worried about for the DRL's/Highs. I'd thought about HID's for them, but didn't think they were a good idea for the rapid on/off issues w/ HID's. During the winter; 1/2 my commute are very dark, winding country roads where quick on/off is very necessary and often....
As for the fogs, I hardly use them for functionality, so that swap would be purely for looks. Think I'd be ok w/ a straight LED swap or would I need the decoder?
The only type of LED swaps I've ever done are for interiors, so I'm not too knowledgable about the outside lights and what kind of errors (if any) I might get. I've read reviews about getting errors on DRL's w/o a decoder or resistor, but not sure about fogs....

I did my fogs for looks and a little bit of functionality. They are actually really nice to have in the snow and they do a decent job around town any other time of the year. I still would lean towards what Marco posted or and actual HID conversion, LED's just dont seem to get bright enough

Marco, thanks 4 the link.
Have you used these? Is durability like all other aftermarket, halogen bulbs i.e. not too good? In DRL mode, they'll still be pretty yellow'ish like the OEM's though..... Guess I can't have it all unless I go HID's....

Just bought them. 1 Yr warranty. Pull the DRL fuse (#37)

I went with a japanese branded 9005 for DRL's and am very happy. I don't feel I lost any brightness from high beams at night. If anything it seems more "fluid" since both spectrums are similar now.

i ended up pulling the fuse though cause DRLs just waste the bulb life plus a few other things. if its dark out you should be driving with your lights on anyway right? you can always put the light switch on AUTO so the sensor does the work for you..

Been doing alot of research; what do u think about this:
-Hoen 9005 and H11
-iJDMtoy switchbacks for turn signal/parking
-pull fuse 37
The above should give me what I want; kill yellow DRL's but still have white high beams, use the parking/turn signals as my DRL and they'll be white and should be bright enough. The way I see it, the above should satisfy my aesthetic and safety requirements, right? Am I missing anything?

The HiD fogs are insane! Worth the price and effort.
Better disbursement and color = Less eye strain on the pavement and faster response from your head to the wheel.
