Hondata FlashPro

Anyone currently considering a FlashPro from Hondata for a custom tune? I don't see myself really taking full advantage of mine. Just wanted to gauge interest before I throw mine back to stock and unlock the unit I have. I also have a 2010 model...I assume the unit is compatible for all 1st gen model years, but someone correct me if I am wrong. If anyone is interested I'll get the unit ready and throw it up in the market.

Thanks for the heads up. Too bad I'm a bit slow.

Since my plans are to only run an intake, I think I'll just send off for a reflash...

For flashpro you need a computer, and some A/F ratio knowledge, right?

Can't do that then...

I must say I'm glad the the little 1st gen RDX still gets so much attention here on AZ, it's really a wonderful hatch!!!

A FlashPro lets you custom tune your car, yes. But you do not necessarily have to do the tuning. If you have someone else do that part, you can just use it to upload new calibrations to your vehicle which only requires basic computer navigation skills. If you can post on a forum thread, you can upload a calibration to your RDX.

So, I could get a FP for the RDX, and bring it to any aftermarket tune shop, and have it installed?

I have two problems doing this myself...

1. I don't know how to use a computer...

2. I don't have a computer, only an iPhone...

Anyway, if this will better support an intake than a reflash, that may be good...

It should also allow me to do an exhaust mod with the intake and a tune and not throw off the A/F ratio too much, I think I read...

I think 700? Hondata sells it off their website. If you're asking for used...mine is already gone, but you can always check the market to see if another pops up.

I have the Flashpro for a 2011 RDX. Was disappointed that there weren't any maps for this year other than Hondata's original tune. The 2007 to 2009 Hondata maps will get specific to some of the mods you may put on. I even checked with Hondata to see if these maps were also able to be used for my year, and they said no. So thus, I am running a CAI and base tune, so don't know if I am getting my money's worth out of it.

So is a base tune similar to a reflash?

I really want to run a K&N Typhoon and a reflash, how's it been for you?

Reflash and base tune are essentially the same. It bypasses the O2 for Down pipe installation, and allows for at least an upgraded intake filter. Open air CAI not sure...

Shivaswrath, noticed you have a 2010 Reflash, but with your mods of the RV6 DP and ETS TMIC, and no Hondata map to use other than the base one, did you the basic reflash take advantage of these mods or did the ECU throw any error codes. I thought the DP was particularly the one to throw codes. Thanks
