Hey everyone, I may be picking up my first Acura tomorrow...a 2008 RDX Tech! (85,000kms)

Just wanted to know what things I should pay close attention to once I get her home as far as which parts are known to wear or need replacement...other than the typical things like brakes for example.

Also, any (really, anything) other helpful tips or advise on keeping me and my RDX happy for years to come would be much appreciated. Im looking forward to acquiring a ton of knowledge from you folks.

which dealer did you get it from? welcome.

 

It was a recent trade-in at a VW dealer here in Vancouver, BC. The previous owner moved to a brand new full-size diesel Toureg.

I have not signed off on the deal yet, so perhaps any last minute tips could be helpful in making my final decision.

 

I would generally buy an Acura from an Acura dealer. When they do a pre-sale inspection they know what to look for better. I bought my RDX from Lougheed Acura last march. I knew some people having worked there but I didn't get a deal unfortunately. I drove it across Canada with ZERO issues fully loaded (couldn't see out the back window). My only tip for you is read the contract very carefully for hidden costs. I missed the life insurance policy for worst case scenarios which tagged on an extra 4350.00 on to the final cost of the car. Also seeing as when you purchase the car you have three days legally to change you're mind and null the sale if you wish. I would take it to a Acura dealer Like Burrard Acura or wherever is closest to you and pay them to inspect it just for piece of mind.

 

Whoa! $4350.00...that right there is a pretty bad scenario!

I plan on taking the RDX for a long test drive tomorrow morning (on my own) and going over it as closely as I can. Are there any things in particular that should look for when it comes to the first gen RDX.

Not sure my man, I do know I had rollover from a previous car so that probably had a hand in the high cost. The more money they give you the higher the insurance right?

I did in fact pick up my 08 RDX tech, and so far Im certain I made the right choice.

Its grey, but Im not sure what Acura named this colour.
