I hate to sound like "that guy", but I have been an Engineer building seats (the steel frames under the foam/trim/covers etc.) for Mercedes, Chrysler, Subaru etc. for 8 years and have to say all the testing that takes place on driver and passenger seats unless it is specified in the customer specs. is done without any aftermarket DVD systems, or other devices.
I can tell you that there have been warranty claims that have come back that have been refused in spite of the fact that motoring shows etc. show people how to install the aftermarket products, based solely on the fact right or wrong that the specification did not included the added weight etc. associated with the add-ons. Seat structures like anything else pass requirements, but like anything else there is a significant difference between the "crash pulse" on a seat with and without a DVD screen or other add-on on the back.
Sorry to be "that guy", but I saw the part about the baby.

BMW is going to install optional brackets on the rears of the front seats of the next X3 crossover that will allow backseat passengers to read, watch movies or just about anything else on their Apple iPads.

To the OP, what brand headrests did you use, or to anyone else for that matter? I have been looking all over for ones and can't find any that tilt as far forward as the OEM ones. I actually use the headrest and would love to keep it usable. How do you like them? Thanks for the help.
I have also been looking into to putting screens in the rdx's headrests but it seems that it would need to be a smaller 7" screen and would be pretty tight at that. Has anybody out there given this a shot?
Thanks Chris
