HandsFree Link - Anyone Else Think the Commands Suck?

Man, it is annoying trying to set anything up. No master list of commands that I can find and some of them are not intuititive at all.

Why isn't the main screen used to show the options/commands?

I just picked up a 2008 G35X and the screen (non-nav) lists all the available commands so you know exactly what to pick and what is available. You also do not need to hit the button again aftehr your command. It will beep right after your selection waiting for the next command.

Agreed. Too many button presses to simply call someone. No visual guide to entering info. No visual guide to associate names to a phone number. Sometimes I don't see incoming phone numbers on the caller ID area.

The back of the owner's manual has a list of the commands.

The voice recognition of HFL isn't so great. I get a lot of false matches while driving and when I cancel to try again often get repeated responses of something like "star, zero, zero...". As my tires have worn down and gotten noisier it gets harder and harder to dial while on the freeway.

Perhaps you are doing it wrong. You say the person's name and then say call after it prompts you. Although, I do admit that the system can use some work. It doesn't make sense to me how it confuses 3 with 8.

You can say Call "XXX XXXX" and it will call it. But of course, about a third of the time, it gets three numbers.

I agree, calling from numbers is a pain in the ass. It was frustrating when I was entering numbers into the system as it kept on misinterpreting the numbers; however, once everything was entered, calling by name is a piece of cake.
