I have been having this issue for a while. Many times I don't get to enjoy listening to radio and music in my RDX 2007. Most times when I ignite my RDX and put on the radio it gives static and only the centre speaker working after a while all other speakers come up and no more static. Sometimes, I'll start the engine put in the speaker and all speakers will be fine with no static and suddenly, static resumes with the only centre speaking working. Most times, it's static all through with only centre speaker working. I'm pretty sure my speakers are good but there's an issue somewhere.
Someone should give me headsup.

 

Probably a short/ exposed wire somewhere. That would be my guess. I'd start by the looking around the stereo/ amp if nothing then I would try unplugging all speakers and plug them in one by one and see if one causes the static to start again.

 

rule out the speakers

hold down 1 and 3 on the radio presets, turn radio off while holding these down then turn the radio back on still holding. you will hear a tone from the front left speaker, press the seek button. the speaker the tone is cycling thru will display on the radio screen. if one of the speakers doesn't make a tone or is weak in comparison to all the tones it may be a bad speaker or channel. move known good speaker to check no sound channels. hope this helps. i dont know how to diagnose amp or radio other than to swap known good ones. does it work when its playing a cd or just when its on the radio.
