Burning Brakes
What scares me about these kinds of tires is that I figure that Price, Treadwear, and Grip are a triple constraint. So on a tire like that I fear that they will not have good grip over their lifespan.

update: clocked in about 3k+ on the DWS
These are the best wet weather (all season) rubber ive ever experienced. The DWS go thru STANDING water like the water is not present. Rain poses absolutely no problem, and i have yet to get the tires to chirp. Even new, the stock mich on wet would squeal and chirp on the slightest damp roads, even if just turning from a stop. DWS are amazing for wet, cannot wait for next winter. They have remained extremely quiet, and the dry handling has improved to a point where I do not really notice a difference from the OEM, only kick is a duller turn in but better braking response makes up for everything. Just about the best you can get. Given the objective data out there on the DWS, and now, my few months of subjective experience, i would not put any other tire on the RDX if you are in new england or have some diverse weather where you live. For all weather conditions, DWS has my vote no question. I;ve had yoko's before, and these are better. (ive had the Avid's on my vehicles, but not the RDX). I also looked on our 2010 TL FWD - the stockers are bridgestones and not michelins

I agree so far at 7k on the DWS. Great ride, good in when wet. We drove through a bunch of 2-4 inch standing water areas today during the rain and RDX seems to track straight. They feel stickier than any of the other tires I have had on this thing (Stock Pilots, Goodyear Assurance Comfort tread, Yokohama Avid V4s. Now, will they wear out in 20k like all the rest? Probably, but I hope not this time.

Yes, thanks for finding that thread, it was helpful.
I've been doing more reading on the tire sites. It seems that the tread has has excellent traction, but the soft sidewall allows the vehicle to shift sideways while the tread holds the road. This gives a very disconcerting feeling to the driver. Some drivers hate it and others adjust their style and adapt to it.
It's fairly clear that spirited/performance drivers are most likely to be disappointed in the DWS, while average/cruiser drivers were happy that it was quieter and smoothed out bumps. I would go for a 19 or 20" X 8.5" wheel to avoid the squirm on corners. (Plus they look better on the RDX)
There are many reports of sidewall rupture after hitting a pothole or curb and most said that they've never had a tire so fragile before. Every brand of tire I have owned, with the exception of Toyo, has done that.
Another common report is flat-spotting after sitting 24 hours, with a vibration that lasts 15 or 20 miles and longer in the cold.
Same as above.
I haven't made up my mind yet, but my confidence in the DWS has taken a pretty big hit.
I might consider it as a longer wearing winter tire on a second set of wheels.

well, im hoping mine dont blow out lol, but i cannot wait till the winter gets here.
- no vibration noticed, have had them since mid march
ill just reiterate that it all depends on where you live. the last handful of winters in the new england are have been nuts, with multiple blizzards & wet slushy crap through March and sometimes in April. We get a steady diet of rain thru 12 months. My choice was pretty easy after seeing the results of the DWS in snow/rain. But I also fully understand hesitation in putting them on. Fortunately, i havent had many of the issues uve read about other than initial balancing problems.

For those that are satisfied with the steering response of the DWS, what tire pressures are you running? Are you using Acura's recommended 32 psi or something else?
Continental's web-site makes tire pressure changes from stock for some of their tires (usually adding about 3 psi), but the RDX page does not include the DWS.
Has the tire been wearing evenly across the tread?
