Can't select Auto with fresh air

It seems like every time I have the a/c in Auto the recirc light comes on. When I try to turn off the recirc and have cooled fresh air, the auto system goes off. What gives? My other car will gladly do auto with fresh or recirc air.

I have noticed that the RDX likes to use recirc air a lot when in Auto. But eventually, it will switch itself back to fresh air.

Auto means full auto. Turning the recirc off does not shut down the whole climate control system, though. Everything else is still automatic, except for the recirc (and the auto light).

Everything is automatic after you hit auto. Then things go off automatic one by one as you press buttons. Think of the auto button as a "reset to full automatic" button. So just press auto then press the recirc button to until the light is off--you then have everything automatic except the recirculation.

Raise the temperature...If you have the temperature at it's coolest setting and you're trying to cool your car quickly, it would go to recirculate mode.

Shoofin is right, but to add to that....

Raise the temperature because if the set temperature is "significantly" lower than the ambient temperature, it'll try to recirculate to maximize cooling. If you raise your temp up a few degrees (i'm assuming you have it around 70-72), you'll probably find that the recirculation will go off--try setting it to ambient temperature or something comfortable around there...
