Canadians buying parts for Acuras, RDX

I just found out how cheap it is for Canadians to buy Acura parts now from the US. I got some front and rear brake pads for my 2005 TSX for only CAD90.00 and that includes shipping to Vancouver, BC. The prices for the RDX pads were very similar.

To get the same from the local dealer here would have cost around CAD170.00, just parts alone. And I don't have to drive to my local dealer to pick it up! The great exchange rate currently really makes it worth the while to buy from the US.

Although my RDX is still new, I might just consider getting the spare brake pads ahead of time, while the exchange rate is still good.

Aftermarket pads perform better and relatively cheaper here in Toronto (especially if you have the links lol)

That green stuff, hawks soo much better then oem. On the RDX I would pick up aftermarket pads simply because the oem ones are not good enough.

Yeah, I agree that Ceramic composite pads are generally better in braking performance, but so far, has been satisfied with the factory pads, don't drive aggressive enough to really see the need to get those high performance pads.

not all ceramics, I picked up some ceramic pads from part source, they are quite good at stopping but they are noisy and warp my rotors quick. Been through 2 sets of rotors on those pads and stupidly paid 90 bucks for them

And along that same line... I checked out the tire prices for the RDX and TSX, man... is it ever cheaper in the US.

One of them, the Falken 512 Ziex, was like CAD70.00 after conversion, out the door. And free shipping to the Point Roberts pick-up location called "TSB shipping". Canadians picking up stuff there across the border simply pay the vendor pick-up fee, and the pst/gst.

local online dealer, Tiretrends were asking for CAD115 + taxes. So, save around 160.00 per set of tires.

I really might end up getting most of the RDX components from across the border. The pricing in Canada is really ridiculous, given the current exchange rate as well.
