2012 RDX AC problem & dashboard removal
Hi everyone,
I need to replace A/C expansion valve. The problem is that the location behind the firewall has a small opening and there is no way to remove the valve.
I guess I need to remove the dashboard, minimum on the passenger side, perhaps more.
Does anyone know what this procedure would involve and what to look for or to expect?
Thanks

Here's what I could find, you have to remove glovebox, climate control unit, blower motor then evaporator core. Not near as bad to remove evap core as some other cars. Why does the expansion valve need to be replaced? This isn't a part that typically fails.

The AC was not working properly, it would get cold for a few minutes and then it would start blowing warm air. It was kind of random.
Also the AC clutch was slipping that was replaced but didn't help.Started replacing little valves and so on.
There was no refrigerant leak as far as I remember.
I had disabled the AC and pulled the fuse,.
I'm missing the cold air, and want to get it fixed. I have 155k miles on the car and would like to get some more mileage out of it.
Any suggestions?
