2011 RDX AWD tongue weight rating: how to increase?
Hi everybody.
I own Acura RDX 2011 AWD. As everybody here knows, its tow capacity of 1500 lb means 150 lb tongue weight.
Here is my problem: I need to use a hitch cargo rack which would weight 220-240 lb fully loaded. Roof rack, trunk, and trailer are not an option for various reasons.
Load distribution is not a problem as rear sits and trunk will carry very low load. My hitch receiver is rated for 4000 lb. My main concern is that frame rails may bend. Is there any way to increase their twisting/bending resistance?

Thanks for response.
According to GMC web site, tongue weight up to 15% is OK:
Towing Capacity: The Maximum Weight That You Can Pull Safely | GMC
Tongue Weight and Its Role in Safe Trailering and Towing | GMC
That means RDX should handle up to 225 lb fine. Will go to body shop anyway just to see what they say.

Drifting
The problem is not the weight as in breaking the frame with the tongue weight rating. The real concern is the front wheels coming of the ground (wheelies) and no steering control or lack of steering control from a light front end.

I will definitely test how it behaves, but do not think this will be an issue. My trunk and rear seats will carry very low load.

I drove as it is with no issues so far. But your motorbike is 200 lbs, add to this the hitch rack weight, it may exceed 300 lbs easily. If I was you, I'd go with motorcycle trailer. Much more expensive, but you motorbike is also not cheap, I guess. And you might find a good deal on eBay or craigslist.
