2010 suspension improvements

I test drove a 2008 RDX before when it first came out and hated it because of the stiff suspension. Now, I am in the market for a SUV again and interested in the 2010 RDX. I test drove one recently and notice the suspension is still pretty stiff and rough. But then I read that Acura supposely improved the rough ride during the MMC. Did I just get unlucky with my test drive? Or is the 2010+ suspension still pretty rough? I am coming from a 2006 TSX and one thing we want is a softer ride. We would love a 2010 Lexus RX350 but it's way too overpriced.

Have you considered a used Lexus? Why not. There are plenty of well maintained previously owned RX 350's out there at really great prices. It's a great CUV! Seriously.

Dealers are asking $35-$37k for a RX350 with AWD and Navi. It IS a great car but damn is it expensive.

Agreed, but it is still one of the best small lux CUV's on the market. And one could argue that Lexus was the first to produce a small lux CUV (1998).
It also has a very good ride for that short wheel base.

$32k. Looking for AWD, Navi, HIDs. I have test drove:

2010 Cadillac SRX - Top of my budget. Concerned about reliability and Navi locks up during motion (can't enter new address)

2010 Lexus RX350 - Loved everything but over my budget. Navi locks up but hackable.

2010 Infiniti EX35 - Too small and too low. Drove tooo much like a sedan.

2010 Acura MDX - Top of my budget. Too wide. Hard to drive in city.

2011 Hyundai Tucson - No HIDs. Concerned about reliability and fit and finish.

2010 Acura RDX - Loved everything but stiff suspension.

What about a lease? You could get a new 2013 RDX and be well within your monthly budget.

How many miles did the 2010 have? I was concerned at first, but now after 5000 miles the suspension has settled in quite a bit and is the perfect compromise. Now, compared to other vehicles in this segment it will be on the sporty / stiff side. The rewards come from this setup in mountain roads and twisties, where it handles better that any CUV has a right to.

strange i never found the ride on my rdx stiff. it's not soft but its not bouncy harsh either. i once drove a 06 STI and that was just harsh. my rdx is quite settled on the highway. do you mean that you could feel the small cracks and bumps on the road where its muffled on other cars? i love that lol. i sometimes keep count of number of bugs i crushed. it also prevents me from getting bored and sleepy on long journeys.

I bought a used 2010 RDX and when it was time to change tires at 47,000 miles I chose away from the OEM Michelins for the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422. I also went to a 225/60-18 size which is slightly taller. Rides much better now and saved some money.

Our 2010 RDX ride is no way as stiff as previous car (2004 BMW X3).
