2010 CPO RDX price thoughts...

Ready to buy a CPO 2010 RDX w/ Tech. 23k miles. 1 owner. clean car fax. Got the dealer down to 26,495 Won't go any lower. Also wants 379.00 Delivery prep-think I can negotiate that number... Anyway, would like to get your thoughts on the price. Good/bad/so so?
Thanks much.

Not in my opinion...

FWD? No.

Two reasons. (#1 below-ask me how I know)

1) RDX FWD=wheel spin then VSA activation. Do you want performance? Its 200lbs< but traction limited

2) 2 years at - $5k/yr $10k...30-10=$20k FWD best deal*

SH-AWD add $1.5k to the price. So $21.5k if SH-AWD*

*est based on 5 yr old/50k mi RDX being worth ~ 50% of new.

Does that sound right. Have you looked at autotrader or truecar prices?

Do your home work before you make an expensive mistake that you will take yrs to pay for.

I'm kinda in the same situation. Looking for the same yr/tech with around 30k miles. Would that be 26,5000 OTD? 24k seems to be the trade in market value for that car. So add sales tax, tags and whatever na fee they are adding.

Thanks for reply but I guess I should have been clearer... Car is a 2010 SH-AWD with Tech Package..23,000 miles. Certified Pre-Owned

Auto trader says:
Average Price.............$28,226 and that's not Certified

Edmunds says: Certified Pre Owned SH-AWD 4dr SUV AWD w/Technology Package (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 5A) $31,864

I'm getting for $26,495 I thought it was pretty good deal but wanted some input from people here who know.

Seem to be a good price if Edmunds shows $31,864.

Did you check the car fax? Was it a rental? Lease or had a accident?
Just wondering why it is so cheap when the price given is what normally for the 08-09 tech.

Plus now that the SH-AWD is not in the +13 models; I would only think the value will hold up higher.

In my area a new '12 SH AWD Tech is now $34 to $34.5k

2 years depreciation @$3.5k/yr, $27k. So they are close.
Play hardball, there are more out there. Offer them $25.5 and wait a week if you are not in a hurry.

Good price, buy it before it's gone.
I've been looking at 09's for 6 months and they all are around 27-29k, so go for it.

^Joe, Are you a used car salesman?

Here is a quote from Rotary Rocket...

"Since you can't take it with you, I'd say spend it while you can and enjoy it!

I mod because I enjoy having something different, improving on the original design (I'm into good handling), it is a hobby of mine, I buy my cars used then spend my money on moding them (got my 07 RDX with 50K miles for $18k), enjoy sleeper vehicles, etc, etc."

My point is that 5 yrs out it is worth ~ 50% of new, so 2.5 yr old is worth ~ 75% of new.

$34k x 75%= $25.5

That is a proper price, you can pay more if you want.

Or work harder to get the best price.

info I have gathered....

2010 AWD 4dr W/ Tech Pkg

MSRP $37,620

Dealer Invoice $34,980

Average of the two $36,300

So if I go with your math of 75% of original and use the average price of MSRP and Dealer invoice (36,300) then I should be paying around $27,225

Just bought the car. Thanks

No, like I said compare prices on autotrader..., see for yourself, if you want a 3y/o crossover for half the price of the original price, buy american.

^Ha, you may be confusing asking price with selling price.
Read the bold words in post #11.
