1st service reminder

When did you get your 1st service reminder? I just got mine at about 4100 miles. Wondering if that is about normal...

And it's so annoying that the service reminder pops up EVERY time I start the car!

Seems like you'll get that once it hits around 15-30%,
once you get the service done, they will reset it for you, and you should be back @ 100% w/ no problem.

first it will show service due soon, then service due now and then if you wait it will show service past due and how many miles. after you get the car service they will reset it. annoying yes but useful.

Does that mean that you need to have servicing done at the dealership? For example for oil changes? Or can other shops reset the reminder?

Cheers.

Dude, the 1st service is free, supposedly...
Just get it done, don't wait on it.

That depends on your dealer. Some free but if not probably around $60.

From page 3-6 of the Service Manual, you can reset the maintenance reminder yourself as follows:
1) Turn ignition swith to the On (II) position.
2) Push and release the Select/Reset Knob repeatedly until the engine oil life indicator is displayed.
3) Press and hold the Select/Reset Knob for about 10 sec. The engine life indicator and the maintenance item code(s) will blink.
4) Press and hold the Select/Reset Knob for another 5 sec. The maintenance code(s) will disappear and the engine oil life will reset to 100.
