So i have an all stock '97 2.2 cl. I'm planning on lowering it and eventually getting a set of rims and tires. I'm on a pretty tight budget so I would have to get lowering springs. It needs to be practical since this car will be my dd for the next two years. what brands do you recommend and how low before i start to scrape? Also if i lowered it, could i whip 17-18" rims? What would look the best. Any advice is appreciated.

Really depends on how low you're trying to go, and if you're planning to keep your stock shocks.

I just ordered my drop springs and shocks. I'm gonna wait til everything is on there to tell anyone what brand. Let them bash me after they see it. I've got 19"s on mine and the drop should be about 2-2.5". Which is awesome cuz I just had the fenders rolled too. Can't wait

We have a couple different options in regards to drop springs and shocks.

The Eibach Pro Kit spring is $242.32 and will drop your car approximately 1.2 to 1.3 inches.

The Tokico HP shocks have great reviews and are a quality shock to pair up with lowering springs.

I noticed the tokico shocks, whether illuminas or hp's require that the factory saftey washers be re-used. Can someone explain what that entails and give me an oem part number?

BTW- I'm also riding stock suspension and was looking at a setup with GC coilovers and KYB AGX struts. has anyone tried this setup? My buddy has a 95 accord with a GC/Koni setup and I like the way his ride sits, I just don't want to dish out the cash for the Koni's.

The Tokico's are a more affordable option compared to the Koni Yellow's, and just as good if not better. They would be my recommendation. Whichever you decide, we have great pricing on both.

You are correct the washers are reused. Unfortunately I do not have the part number off hand.
