Exclamation Need help on wheels and suspension

I'm planning on getting new wheels and suspension for my 98 CL.
In wheels, I was looking at the R1 GTR-4 in Hyperblack in 18"s X 7.5.(Plz tell me what do u think on the way) What tire size and what offset is recomended for the wheels?

http://www.wheelsnext.com/default-ho...Hyperblack.htm

As for springs, i'm looking into skunk 2 but can you tell me if I need some new control arms and if so, which ones? Does 2.0" front and 1.75" rear is too much for slightly rough roads and front lip?

Any help and info would be appreciated!

Thanks.

The offset is 4x114, at least for non type-s cars. Your suspension questions are too broad, use acura cl wheel offset for further wheel information and just type in a new search entry to find out suspension advice. In general, once you get near/over 2" on most hondas you are going to significantly sacrifice ride quality, tire wear, suspension health, etc. if you use stock parts. If you are just doing springs for the lower ride height I'd go with any quality name brand unit, skunk2 is a good value.

Seeing that all first gens are non type-s, 4x114.3 is correct =) Personally, I think 200$ a rim is too pricey for some heavy, off-brand rims. However, if you like them, that's all that matters. Who cares what people from around the world think

4x114.3 is the bolt pattern, I read it on the noob guide, but the offset isnt what seperates the wheels from the brakes !?!?
I thought it was some kind of spacer!?!? am i correct?

photoshopping is kinda hard without a "straight on" picture of the rim. I'd be happy to do it for you though...

Just so you know, a 30+ offset PLUS a 10mm spacer = 20+ offset. It goes backwards of what you're thinking. This is because your adding metal, not taking it off.

Look at the picture again. You change the point of contact from the wheel to the hub with spacers.

if you lower your ride more than one inch, you should get a camber kit.

I have skunk2 coilovers on my 3.0cl...The ride quality isn't that great but it is better then most cheap spring setups going down the road. I used to have Progress springs which gave my car a 2.8"+ drop, looked good but it was ripping my axles apart. With the current setup I still utilized my camber kit (ingalls) and I would suggest using the chamber kit for anything over 1.25" drop. Again, the suspension setup is stiff and great for handling but I would not suggest these coilovers for regular road use due to pot holes and general road conditions. PM me if you need any more info or help with your setup, I have been tweeking my suspension for the last 3 years.

215/35/18 is too thin, TRUST ME go alittle thicker!!!! If you don't believe me ask my 2 bent rims and the 4-5 tires I replaced due to bubbles I got in the sidewall.
unless you got ironing board roads, then go for it............

very nice rims though, PROTECT THEM!!!!!!!(if you get them)

you can't go wrong with hyperblack, you get the best of all worlds....

Nah, I watch my money and always looking for the best back for my buck.
Thanks for the advice, i'll go for 40's. I know 35's would look good but if my car is gonna be on the side of the road all time, it looks even worst. lol.
Still having trouble deciding on suspension (2.0F 1.8R or 1.8F 1.5R?) and my wheels.

You are able to adjust the height to your liking. But if you're talking about going higher than stock height, that I'm not sure about.
