? about coilovers and pillowball mounts

ok, so after doing some research on coilovers, I was initially under the impression that having pillowball upper mounts was better all around, but I recently have read several post on a couple forums tht having pillowball upper mounts will make the ride much more harsh. is this the case? will I not even be able to make it stock-like with the dampening set to softest? I still want to have a relatively nice ride after etting coilovers, but I also want better handling. I'm not gonna be doing intense racing and like 50 mph hairpin turns or anything, but will still be taking curves pretty quick.

so shoud I get suspension with or without pillowball mounts for this? I was looking into D2 coilovers as I'm sure many of you alredy konw, but after hearing this I'm not to sure since I don't want a really harsh ride. any advice for a car noob?

nuff sedd . . .. i dont believe that it'll be alot harsher, and if it is , it was a remark from someone that

got coilovers for the wrong reason.

well, if I had $1300 to spend on that, then I'd definitely get it, BUT being a semi-poor college student, I don't, and I'm gonna try out the D@'s since they are apparently comparable to the TEIN type flex dampers. Sure the EDFC is cool and all, but I'm not gonna need to change the dampening adjustment on the fly. I don't mind getting out of the car and adjusting it by hand. I'm not THAT lazy.

It's not being lazy, it just more convenient. I don't really like climbing in the trunk to adjust my rear shocks.

someone in the second gen forum had a setup where they had knobs in the rear of the cabin (near the speakers) where they could adjust their teins like that, I'm thinking of fabbing a similar setup.

so.. back on topic.. anyone else wanna answer this? Am I going to have to secure any loose change after coilovers to prevent rattling, or will the ride only change if I put the settings to stiff?

honestly i dont think it'll be a rough ride, unless u set it to be stiff.

- with any replacement shocks, its bound to not quite be stock
