2.3 CL "floating"
I have an Acura 2.3 CL with the manual transmission. I just recently purchased the car and I am really enjoying it. One thing that does bother me is the car tends to float when tracking straight on the highway. It very gently pushes me left or right 6 inches as if a wind gust blew the car, but there is no wind.
To my knowledge, the tie rod ends seem pretty good, at least from what I can get from steering feedback, but the struts are old and tired. I am running General Altimax HP's on stock rims.
Suggestions? Ideas? I'd prefer not to replace the whole suspension at this point, so if we have specifics let me know.
*Also, lowering is not an option at this point. I drive on the moon and after smashing my control arms on the Prelude, I am done with that mess.

Well, if your shocks/springs are old and tired, the car would feel unstable at higher speeds. Bad alignment or loose tie-rods would also create a stability problem. Lift your front wheel, and move the tire side to side, see if there is play.
