wiper mechanism?
Does anyone know if a wiper mechanism from a 94-97 honda accord is the same as one from a 97 cl? becuse mine from my cl is broken and non repairable. These mechanisms are 170 dollars and if i could get one from an accord (if it fits) from a local junk yard for way cheaper it would be awesome becasue right now i cant drive my car in the rain. Any help with this would be GREAT. Thank You

I had an old DIY thread about that here. Basicaly, those arms are sold at the dealer. The come assembled with the teflon pivots. They are like balljoints, but plastic. Over time, the little clips that hold the ball in place wear out and break. It's just a matter of prying the joints out and pressing the new arms in with your hands, its that easy!
Edit: I think the picture u showed is mine :P, haha.

You need 11 and 12. The whole bar comes with 2 teflon "sockets". Take the whole mechanism out, like i did in the picture, it will be easier to install the bars.
Those sockets "pop" out from the metal "balls", you should use a screw driver to help you out by levering between the bars. To install them, you just gotta push them together rly hard, and they will click in place, make sure they went all the way arround the metal ball.

Another question related to the wiper mechanism:
I replaced the wiper mechanism in my '98 CL last year with one from a Honda Accord. The "off" position is perfect but the swing of the wiper arms does not go all of the way across the windshield. The driver's side is about 3" away from the A-pillar.
Is there anyone to adjust this?

Im not 100% sure the accord arms are the same length as the cl's. You might also have inversed the arms, so the driver's side doesn't have the right reach? I'm just speculating but i only see these 2 options right now..

The wiper arms/blades are definitely on the proper side. The longer one of the two goes on the driver's side. If you try to install the longer arm/blade on the passenger's side then the wiper hangs over past the A-pillar on the passenger's side at the "off" position.
The auto wreckers assured me the mechanism was the same part for the Accord and CL - but maybe I will try searching for the part numbers to double check.

same part broke on mine. i just drilled out the metal ball, leaving a hole. then i got a 1/2 pvc spacer, placed the "ring side" of the bar over the spacer with a flat washer on each side, and bolted it back together. I promise this will NOT break again!
