Windshield Weather Stripping
Hi All,
Was wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction of finding some weather stripping and install instructions for my '99 2.3 CL. Currently, I have duct tape holding it in place, and it gets annoying reapplying after a while, plus it looks terrible / ghetto. But its the only thing I was able to do while driving cross country. I've searched the forums and online but havent been able to find any weatherstripping, maybe i'm missing something?
It is the stripping on the top of the windshield, where it meets with the roof of the car. Any info or instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Liam

you can not change the windshield seal without taking the windshield out, it fits around the windshield and then put in place. Definitely not a one man job. I have done it before on an old Mopar (69 Super Bee) and am guessing it is the same on the acura more or less. we took the windshield out and then put the seal in the groove and put some rope ihn the slot where the windshield firs in and put the windshield against the seal and started pulling the rope where the seal would go around the windshield while pushing in on the windshield so it would go in the slot as we pulled the rope out. This is the shade tree way and I have seen those guys that come out for insurance companies do it in about 30 minutes or so but they have the tools needed that we didn't have. But I am almost certain you have to take the windshield out to change the seal even on the newer cars today because of the way its designed to seal out water

I was quoted $210 without insurance for a replacement but if you only need the strip replaced it would most likely be cheaper. Or if you have insurance then you should go that route.

You DO NOT need to remove the windshield to replace the trim around it! I replaced my windshield 2 weeks ago, the trim was all messed up 2, so the guy put a jobber trim around it which requires the windshield to be out in order to install it (luckily i was changing the windshield).
I didn't want to pay for a new trim, they are really expensive!
ill try putting some pics of it.
