Valve job part 2

Valve job part 2
Thanks again everyone for you help. I took my 99 CL 2.3 in to another Honda/Acura garage after my last estimate of $1600 for a complete valve job at the place that I purchased the car. I neglected to tell everyone that when I purchased the car they completed a new timing belt. OK, now the second opinion garage has found two bent valves that they say are related to a faulty timing belt installation or the use of nitrou s. Can that happen and what is my recourse. It is one mechanic vs another. Please help and I'll keep you informed. Branch

The bad thing about getting opinions is that you'll never know who is right unless you are doing the work yourself.
One could be telling you a fig while the other is trying to cash out on you.

valve job update 99CL
Thanks for everyone's response. Yes I did get it fixed at a cost of $1300 Canadian at another import garage. That was around $700-900 less than at the dealership where I purchased the car. Now I'm going back into the dealership and show them the bent valves. Was it caused by the previous owner's neglect of getting the timing belt changed? did it break? did they not adjust the timing belt correctly? The import garage mechanic had never seen bent valves on a Honda 2.3. Stay tuned? Branch

if the belt broke at hwy speeds, you will most definately bend valves. Hondas are interference engines. If the car was at idle then most likely would NOT bend any valves
