I am hearing a thud everytime I accelerate or brake hard or when i go over something like a speed bump.

I had both upper and lower control arms replaced. The sway bar link bushings and installed new SHocks all around


my mechanic said it could be the CV joints. But My boots aren't cracked and I don't hear any clicking noises when i turn. ANy ideas?

THe plate that connects from the exhaust to the bottom of engine cracked way back. I did not remove this. I asked the FORUMS about it and they said it is not needed.

 

the symptom sounds like it maybe your lower ball joints. There is a factory recall because the ball joints deteriorate and snap off, causing the suspension to collapse. Call your dealer w/ vin number to see if your car is eligible

Or it could be that some bolts are loose... tighten ever bolt and nuts in the suspension system (especially the strut bolts inside your trunk.

 

So lift up the hood and tigthen from there right?



So its every time I hit a big bump like a speed bump especially i hear this thud like something is loose. The sound only comes from the Drivers front side.


Im try and tighten those nuts.

 

also tighten up the bolts at the top of the strut tower in the trunk too. you need to peel the carpet off a little to see the tower.

 

nothing Sleep....I took it back to the mechanic and he pounded under the wheel well to make room because the upper control arm isn't OEM so we thought that might be the problem.

But it still makes this "THUMP" when i go over speed bumps u can hear it right away. And when I am backing up and turning the wheels I hear a pop noise any IDEAS??
