Need help on this... Broke bolt on Valve cover..
Hey guys....
I have a 3.0 cl... Well today I smelt oil, I looked on the backside of the motor and noticed oil coming from the valve cover bolts. I decided to tighten the bolts :whyme:! Well I broke a valve cover bolt off in the head... I know I have to take the Intake off the motor to get to the valve cover and the drill the old bolt out... My question is what gaskets will I need when I take the valve cover off? I Know I will need the intake manifold gasket... anything else comes to mind? Thanks in advance! |

you may not have to drill it out, you may be able to take a punch and tap it out far enough that you can get some vice grip or something on it and just unscrew it out
|
I agree with Po401, but PB blast it like a day before, let it soak and it should help.
If you cant tap it out, you can buy extractor bits that will help get stuff like that out. |
Thanks for the info...
Just found out from Acuraoemparts the valve cover bolts are on back order.... :ugh: |
don't really have anything to add but just noticed my post count and wanted to get that number to change
|
have you called local honda/acura dealers to see if they have any already in stock?
