Genuine Honda Manual Transmission fluid
This stuff works great. During the winter, 2nd gear always seemed notchy when first shifting from 1st to 2nd in the cold and smooths out after a few minutes of driving.
My buddy is a tech at a Honda dealership and he had a few bottles of the Honda Manual Transmission fluid lying around so we changed the fluid in my trans. The stuff smells like gear oil. Its a very distinctive smell that gear oil has.
Now the shift from 1st to 2nd is smooth when first driving in the cold. Usually the more cold it is , the worse the shift is from 1st to 2nd. That problem is completely gone now.
Note: This solved the notchy shift from 1st to 2nd in my car. My car has never had a grind. If you car grinds, this may or may not help. It might help a little bit but most likely it will not get rid of the grind completely.
