Engine Dies while driving-restarts 10 min.
My 97 3.0 CL runs great. There are no warning lights on. In the last 5 days, the engine has shut down, with all electrical (radio, radar dectector, IPOD) all working.I bought a brand new..Top of the line battery from Costco about 5 months ago and all connections are clean and tight... It seems to happen as i am braking.. It happened once while braking for a stoplight, and once while braking to exit the freeway...Both times, the starter would not even try to engage...nothing...after about 10 minutes..the car starts up as if nothing happened and performance is normal...any ideas about this problem are appreciated...thanks

If battery electrical connections are sound, your problem could be a failing keyswitch.
Since engine shuts down while running, this suggests the electrical power to the ignition is being cut off. Only switch is the ignition switch.
A loose ground to the distributor could also cause this problem. This ground is near the thermostat housing on most Accords and CL's. A manual for your model should confirm.
good luck

Alarm is the culprit (i hope)
My alarm is a clifford (not Viper)..i checked it and it was very loose on its mount..I traced the wires a bit and found them severed and most likely shorting when i braked and the alarm unit rocked,, so i tightened up the alarm and soldered and sealed the wires...I have only taken it out once with no problem....we will see in the next few days...thanks for all the input!!

Evil Clifford alarm system kills engine randomly
Final update (I hOPe)---my Clifford alarm with ignition disable--when set--(over 6 years old--i about $400 for it at AL $ ED`S on Imperial Highway)..) was shutting of the ignition in intersections, on the freeway, just any old place...so i had it taken out and shot for placing me in danger.,,,again thanks for the input... i was hoping that it was just an antifreeze problem.
