Cluster repair fixed many problems
Hello ladies and gents,
This is my first thread and I wanted to let people know what happened to my manual 97 CL 2.2 after getting my cluster repaired.
At various times in order: cruise control, stock remote alarm, and eventually the right side of the cluster (speedo, gas gauge, odometer, and trip) stopped working within a span of 8 months.
I referred this this site for ways to fix my problems. I followed all instructions for fixing the cruise control and remote. I replaced the speedo sensor along with other potential remedies to fix the cluster. I had no other electrical problems and all fuses under the hood and driving column were good. After all my attempts nothing worked. It was until I got pulled over for going 79 in a 70 (which is BS) that I had to get my cluster fixed in order to get my ticket dropped.
I sent my cluster to Southern Electronics (www.instrumentclusters.com) to get it fixed for around $250. They were friendly and very fast.
After putting my cluster back in everything worked! The cruise control, remote, and right side of the cluster. I cant explain it but I wanted to share it just in case if anyone was in my position.
