Cig lighter loose

Story:
I recently purchased a new iPod, and I've been using my old bulky adapter to listen to said iPod in the car. I suppose that the combination of iPod and bulky ass adapter was a tad too heavy for the cig lighter.

Problem:

The cigarette lighter and the black plastic piece surrounding the outside of it are loose. I took apart the center console to try and fix it, and for the life of me I can't figure it out without securing it ghetto style with duct tape. Has this happened to anyone before? Is there away to get it secured without using tape? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the sleeve screws in to tighten it. Hold the inside of the lighter with your finger and grab the sleeve that goes around it and twist. Or hold the sleeve and twist the inside with your finger

Not everyone feels the need for a warm ass while they drive

On topic, I've had the same issue. I never knew it screws in, I'll try that when I get my car back next month.

Whenever I push my cigarette lighter in the radio dies an fuse blows...is a new lighter needed? or can this be fixed? I'm guessing power is shorting through the coil in the end of the lighter?

I'm having a problem similar to yours. I replaced the cigarette lighter that wasn't working. Now whenever I plug someting in to charge it the radio shuts off. When I unplug my device the radio turns back on. The fuse doesn't blow or anything, just the radio turns off. When I initially replaced it everything worked fine. When I plugged my phone in to charge it that's when everything started going wrong. I need help too. Is there anyone that knows what to do?
