Alarm won't activate
I had some body work done on my 99 CL 3.0 drivers door. When I got the car back I noticed the red LED was not flashing when the car was locked also the alarm doesn't beep when I lock or unlock the door with the remote. I removed the door panel and all the wires apear to be connected and I tested the led and it is good. What the heck could the guy have done to screw the alarm up. Also the passenger door does not unlock when the key is held to the right.
Does the switch in the door handle set the alarm or the switch in the door latch?

All I would know is that you probably need to reset your remote. (Press and hold the Lock and Trunk button and wait for the long red dot.) For the rest, need to be a bit more descriptive. Might be bad wiring. Who knows.

After reading the service manual I removed the door panel and found the problem. Apparently they removed the door handle when they painted the door and left the plastic arm to the switch hanging. Acura has a roundabout way of activating the door lock cylinder switch. Turning the key pushes a rod that locks or unlocks the door latch which pushes another rod up back to the door lock on one side of a pivot; the other side of the pivot moves the plastic piece that activates the switch. The plastic piece just snaps into place and everything works like normal. I should charge them for fixing my own car.
I still have to take the car back to have them buff the paint better and to replace the wood grain trim around the inside door handle, which they also broke.
