Air conditioning was getting warmer...I lucked out-maybe you will too-look inside.

About two months ago I had the high/low side a/c hoses replaced because they were leaking. I also had the freon evapped and refilled with new freon and oil. About two weeks ago I noticed my a/c was starting to lose it's bite. Of course I didn't know why and didn't really have time to have it looked at. Two things I did notice after it got warmer was 1-an initial fog or mist coming out of my dashboard a/c vents and2-a weird gurgling/hissing sound coming from the right side of my dash board.
1-I learned that this is completely normal, especially since I live in SW Florida. In very humid conditions not all of the moisture coming out of the evaporator is condensed. The white fog is a frozen mist in the humid air that's coming out of the vents.
2-I learned again that the noises were completely normal. The a/c system is highly pressurized and the noises I was hearing was from the a/c system itself-cooling to a low temp then evaporating using expansion and contraction. I also learned that those noises could be a sign of low freon which it definitely was.

So I went to my buddies shop and grabbed his a/c gauges to check the pressure levels. As I unscrewed the cap to attach the fitting I could hear a faint hiss. That was the culprit. A loose schrader valve. I tightened it up but was careful not to over tighten it. Filled the system with half a can of freon and now my a/c is ice cold again. I'm hoping it stays that way but if anything changes I'll post the results here.

Well the freon leaked out. I'm fairly certain the schrader valve is fubar. I'll be having my buddy look at it in the very near future and post the findings. Thankfully it hasn't been oppressively hot the last few days...
